Diaconate Day of Discernment

Call to become deacons

Applicants for the next class of permanent deacons gathered for a day of discernment about their call to serve the Church.

Director of Diaconate Formation Deacon William Ladroga spoke Feb. 27 at Sacred Heart Parish to the 21 men about the program and provided details about the process which will lead some of the men to the diaconate in 2015.

The day began with Morning Prayer. Father Fausto Stampilia, SAC, Director of the Permanent Diaconate Program and Father Gregg Caggianelli, Diocesan Director of Vocations, spoke to the men about their call to become deacons. Deacon Ladroga also spoke about the call to service that is paramount to the deacon.

The opportunity was given for questions concerning the program and the day ended with the celebration of Mass celebrated by Father Stampiglia.
