Mission:

The Education Department was established to assist the Bishop of Venice in the educational aspect of his pastoral responsibilities, providing support and oversight to the local leadership of Catholic schools, parish catechetical programs and youth ministry, and the Blessed Edmund Rice School for Pastoral Ministry, enabling them to facilitate the teaching mission of the Church.

The goal of the Department is to bring the children of God at all stages of life into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ through His Church. This is accomplished through evangelization, catechesis, worship and witness. Attention is given to the ongoing spiritual enrichment of persons in leadership positions so that they are better able to share their faith with others.

The Department of education collaborates with other departments in the Diocese of Venice to provide leadership, initiative, service and vision to carry out Jesus’ command: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”
